Why Period Products Belong in Every Workplace
Safe Work Australia recently updated the *Model Code of Practice: Managing the work environment and facilities to include new guidance on providing period products in the workplace.
They outline that lack of access to essential period products can affect worker health, hygiene, comfort and safety — and that in many workplaces, it may be reasonably practicable for employers (PCBUs) to provide a small supply of pads.
While not mandatory, this guidance gives workplaces a clear opportunity to support staff wellbeing, dignity and safety at very low cost.
